I decided to see how small it would be possible to make a home that was still comfortable to live in and at the same time use building materials as efficiently as possible. Hence the choice to pick 12 foot dimensions for our primary unit.
This is an area of former industrial port, which is converted into urban development. The building is located at Norra Djurgaardsstaden, Stockholm, Sweden. An architect named CF Möller Architects have won the competition to build houses of this city. Design houses the city consists of 18 buildings. The idea of this development does not come by themselves, but inspired in a gas factory ‘red brick and simple geometry. This town house used as a residence with natural lighting and atmosphere on the banks of the river green.
: a built set of volumes and sheets combined as a perfect play that mixes the limits between art and architecture. According to A-cero aesthetics, modern projecting, blocks and plates define the design of this residential project with sculptural references.
although it feels a little top-heavy in some areas, to me, i still give it an overall 'oof!' rating.
dutch architects staal christensen has sent in images of their project 'waving grass' - a facade for the newly opened site for waste collection of the municipality of veldhoven in the new industrial area of habraken.
It’s always quite impressive to see new approaches in traditional spaces; such is the example with Ara Pizza in the surroundings of Barcelona which was recently designed by Pablo Téllez who runs a young design agency founded last year. Ara Pizza is a newly opened eco-fast food restaurant in Sant Quirze del Valles, thirty minutes away from Barcelona city center. Located in the main commercial road of Sant Quirze, Téllez took the challenge of reconverting an almost rectangular old Smith's workshop, where it's best attribute was an outstanding high ceiling.
The project transforms a picturesque urban pond from the 19th century into an ecological habitat buzzing with life. With the design’s improvements to water quality, hydrology, landscape, accessibility, and shelter, the site is able to function as an outdoor classroom in which the co-existence of natural and urban surroundings is demonstrated.

Cool (I was only pulling your leg, you do realise?), yes there's some quite amazing stuff on there; I couldn't quite workout if the teeside project (above) is going to go ahead as in the design or if it's just a concept...
