i'm well except for day 3 of my first ever groin pull. i could discuss that at length if you like. heh
i also hope you're tiptop.
i'd say the econ climate is prompting some of the decisions that wedding planning necessitates.
so.. advertise yourself as the photographer to use "When You're SURE This Marriage Will Last", and put it about that the amateur photogs are for amateur commitments?
yeah maybe that's something we could do. it's tough though when even the bloke that owns the hairdressing salon next to our studio is doing wedding photography in his spare time and using the same suppliers as us.
Dunno if these should be in this thread as I'm no photographer and these are just phone cam pics. Took a 2 hour bike ride to clear my head and took these along the way.
Arrival at Pwll Du, looking over the cliffs, in a B&W mood
It's hazy, and hot. Can't see the horizon, stlil feeling grey.
Cycled down to Caswell, feeling a bit better after the race down the hill.
Leaving Caswell, looking back before heading to Langland.
The path ahead, Langland point in the distance.
You don't camp on the fucking sand, amateurs.
Looking back from the cliffs, Langland point, then Caswell Point, Then Pwll Du - getting some perspective.
Made it around to Mumbles after shoving several families off the cliff path so they would get out of my way.
Bit of a crazy sky, two banks of clouds following the coastline, couldn't get a good shot of the second, too hazy.
Cycled back up the stupid hill and home, probably should have eaten something today, but hey, what the hell.
yeah, thanks - i really like what came out of that shoot :)
hopefully the dude who asked me to shoot these will enjoy them also, so i can invite myself for another festival in the next couple of weeks ;) shooting machine head and motorhead live plus free entrance to the backstage :)

Some photies from my holiday:
Here's a couple of crappy iphone panoramas (made with Pano)
And one made with a better camera
I like green doors too, this one's from lanzarote.
NorthEast Cosplayers - met these guys in Newcastle train station on Saturday, more to come on the 4th of july
Durham Cathedral Photographers Evening - 17th June
Studio Shoot - 16th June
Enjoy
closely followed by the photographers
.....then the two cosplay girls :p
I feel that you B&Ws are a bit 'heavy' and could use more contrast. I tinkered with your rope image below. Yours (left) | Edited (right)
Dunno, if you like em that way then go for it
Seriously, the shadows and highlights do need contrast to pull out all that lovely detail.
nah, nice edit
there's the proper way and the eye of the beholder. i LIKE the dark mangy hawser. it looks mean and rough and strong and forbidding.
so, you having any increased trouble with losing wedding clients to amateurs with DSLR cameras being so available and relatively cheap?
yep, it's a total nightmare at the moment and i dont think the current economic climate is helping either.
i also hope you're tiptop.
