I hope he set the flash to an "off" position on these shots.
It's reminded me of a photoshop tutorial I saw a few years back, where they merged a arial view of a volcano or mountain with an eye, the result looked really good.
Watched some of the ads he had done and my god what crap! He had even directed one Nelly furtado music video and that makes me appreciate his work even less.
