    Wow, that's crazy. I didn't even see the pattern...I wonder why superheroes don't have parents.

    maybe so in the super-hero case, but I believe that in the case of the Disney Characters, using orphans was a method to avoid family comparison (those kids that may have separated/divorced parents would ask too many questions about a "normal" family with two parents).
    I may be completely wrong :D
