“The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is suing renowned architect Frank Gehry, alleging serious design flaws in the Stata Center, a building celebrated for its unconventional walls and radical angles.
The school asserts that the center, completed in spring 2004, has persistent leaks, drainage problems and mold growing on its brick exterior. It says accumulations of snow and ice have fallen dangerously from window boxes and other areas of its roofs, blocking emergency exits and causing damage.

New Mestalla Valencia stadium... check this thread out to see more pics, and a showreel. Stadium is 'sliced' to allow light to highlight its organic shape.
Salvanex:The external design is inspired by the city itself. The building, seen from above, evokes the districts of Valencia with the Turia river crossing it.
The stadium is designed by Arup Sport & Reid-Fenwick Associated, and yay, it's another British-led project. What i can't understand is why we have so much success abroad with British Design and implementation, yet large architectural projects in the UK suffer from the usual - poor planning, budgets spiralling out of control and failed deadlines. Wembley for example, was an absolute travesty, especially when you consider the Emirates was built on budget and to schedule, and is reaping benefits already. And to be honest, Wembley stadium looks nowehere near as inspiring as the these last two stadiums shown in this thread.
using heat-insulating, 20mm-thick acrylic boards, the boundary between the inside and the outside has been made as "transparent" as possible. architect often say things like "bringing the outside inside", and "blurring the boundaries between...", but i think they've done a pretty good job of it in this case. it's a shame that it's still quite close to other houses, but it still affords some privacy (or seems to, at least) to the inhabitants.
"...commissioned by the actor Brad Pitt to help rebuild New Orleans’s impoverished Lower Ninth Ward, one of the neighborhoods hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The project, called Make It Right, calls for building 150 affordable, environmentally sound houses over the next two years. In a telephone interview from New Orleans, where he plans to present the designs today, Mr. Pitt said the residents of the neighborhood had been homeless long enough. “They’re coming up on their third Christmas,” he said.
