The design takes advantage of an advanced polymer which combines high impact resistance, lightweight properties and a gentle flexibility that usually would only be expected on an old Italian steel frame.
i hate to do this, but what kind of cost did that set you back to build up? roughly is fine, and not to worry if you don't want to divulge just wondering if it's something which i could do as a little project, is all.
TBH I was lucky. I found the bike on FreeCycle and it was a find. Brookes, Cinelli, Campagnolo but unfortunately most of it wasn't worth salvaging and as I wanted a Single speed / fixie I sold the parts I didn't need.
The brookes saddle went for a quid on fleabay - gutted
So roughly...
Wheels are Formula/Zenith track hubs on Ambrosio Excursion rims (took ages to get the rims) and ACI Alpine spoke - £100 Tyres off ebay - £1 Tubes - £6 Charge Spoon Saddle - £16 Chain - £8 Single Speed Sprocket - £15 Bars - Cinelli Criterum - £15 ebay (had to buy another set as i discovered the original had the drop position shortened) Campagnolo Athena Skeleton front brake - £15 Ebay Dia-compe MX122 BMX brake lever - £15 Bottom bracket to the get the right chainline - £20 Chainring - £30 Shotblast frame - £15 Cinelli Bar Tape - £8 I built the wheels myself and got the local bike shop to true and tension them properly - £20
So about £280
I guess I sold the other parts for about £70 - 80 so it cost me about £200 all in.
It took ages to source all the parts I wanted. LFGSS was helpful, as was RetroBike, VeloSolo, Parkers, Planet X (who helped me out with the rims) Charlie The Bike Monger, Billys BMX, and of course FleaBay
Do it if you can. I'm already planning my next one.
