My iPod just froze

edited January 2007 in advice
I tried doing what it says to do in the manual:

1. Slide "Hold" button to hold and back again
2. Press "Select" wheel (middle button) for 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears

nothing happens. I even plugged it into the power supply. Nothing. Connected it to my Mac. Nothing.

=(

Any ideas?

cheers

I suppose that I've got two choices:

    1. wait for the battery to die
    2. go to my apple dealer

    bugger

Hey, I have the same error. The iPod freezes and makes clicking and whirring noise and gets really hot. What helps me is if I drop the device to the flor or hit it realy hard. That breaks the loop but also might (and will) damage the iPod.

I have basically tracked the problem down to displaying album art. I am not sure if that is the case, but I disabled album art on the iPod and gave it away as a christmas present image.

Had the same problem to my old iPod. The iPod slap worked for a while but then finally the HD died altogether. That's the clicking sound think the battery died as well.
