interesting - looks worth a watch, although it has to be said it looks a bit too blockbustery which might spoil it

looks like it could be like Aliens with different mise en scene. Cool!

They could have called it 28 Week Laters (it is set in London).

i liked the original 28 days later... but a sequel?

Looks like fun. Hope it can keep the intimacy and tension of the original. Bit tricky with expanded themes and dual hero roles though.

i think merc's aliens comment is interesting and i completely agree

aliens is the best sequel to a brilliant film ever because it doesn't try to compete with the original but takes the characters and themes and does them differently

i'm looking forward to it even tho i used to be utterly terrified of zombie flicks until i saw sean of the dead a couple of years ago - i don't know what it was, the mournful moan or the fact that there's no killing something that's already dead but brrrrr....

nearly true but not quite. the last 15 minutes from Alien and Aliens are very similar. In both films Ripley activates the self destruction sequence and goes back in to save her cat/Newt and when she thinks she's safe she has to kill the alien/the queen before she gets nuked

What I'm saying is that in both films Ripley activates the self destruction sequence and goes back in to save her cat/Newt and when she thinks she's safe she has to kill the alien/the queen before she gets nuked. Aliens is done differently but then the storyline starts to stick close to Alien in the last 15 minutes.

don't get me wrong. Aliens is the best example of a sequel being better than the original in many ways.
