    smoking mittens

Another classic design from Tobias Wong. Mittens with a metal eyelet to perfectly fit your cigarette. Helps you keep your hands warm when you are smoking outside. And you are going to be smoking outside a lot now the ban has been introduced! Remember kids smoking is not big or clever and it WILL kill you, but if you want to die you may as well die with warm hands!

    Fine threat over T-shirt slogan

A man spotted wearing a T-shirt bearing an "offensive" slogan in a city centre has been warned he risks an £80 fine if he is caught again.

Forklift driver David Pratt was told by street wardens in Peterborough he could cause offence or incite violence.

The slogan on the garment read: "Don't piss me off! I am running out of places to hide the bodies."

Peterborough City Council said using insulting or offensive language was an offence, even if it appeared in print.

Back on Prednisolone which I'm not happy about. They are bringing me off the Pred and starting me on another immune system suppressant. Cant remember what it is called but its supposed to do the same thing but without the side effects. Still ruins your liver though. Been on the Pred for over two years now so its time to move on ! I will miss the daily high

German government condemns weekend attack on 8 Indians

A weekend attack in an east German town on eight Indian men chased by a mob as onlookers shouted slurs was intolerable, the government said Tuesday, vowing a full investigation.

About 50 Germans chased the men across a market square early Sunday in Muegeln, near Leipzig, following a scuffle at a dance party, officials said. Onlookers — some shouting slurs such as "Foreigners out!" — did nothing to help the men, police said.

Two of the Indians were hospitalized after being beaten by the attackers.

"It is not acceptable that our foreign fellow residents have to fear for their health and lives," Wolfgang Tiefensee, the Cabinet minister responsible for rebuilding the formerly communist east, told reporters in Berlin. "This excess of violence is intolerable."

"It simply must not happen that people shout slogans in Germany that remind us of the time from 1939 to 1945," Tiefensee said, referring to the racial persecution of the Nazi era. He promised a full investigation.

The Indian government has asked Germany to "take action to address this issue and prevent future incidents of the kind," Navtej Sarna, spokesman for India's External Affairs Ministry, said in New Delhi.

The Indian men sought shelter in a pizza parlor run by an Indian but were beaten up by some of the pursuing Germans who kicked in the doors of the building, police said.

Seventy police officers were needed to restore order after the incident. Four assailants and two police officers also were injured; two suspects were detained after the attack but later released, police said.

The Indian men live in eastern Germany and are mostly merchants who sell goods at open markets in the region.

The incident revived concerns about levels of racist violence in the depressed, formerly communist east. Before last year's soccer World Cup, similar worries were aroused by an attack on an Ethiopian-born German in Potsdam.

Muegeln is located in Saxony, one of two eastern states where the far-right National Democratic Party has capitalized on economic discontent to win seats in the regional legislature over recent years.

Muegeln's mayor insisted that citizens of his town of 5,000 were not involved, and that the attack likely did not have a far-right motive.

"Our town of Muegeln is not far-right," Gotthard Deuse said on N24 television Tuesday.

Tiefensee rebuked Deuse for appearing to rule out a far-right motive.

"We must avoid everything that looks like the intention is to play down or trivialize anything," he said. "We know that in eastern Germany, the number of crimes with a far-right background is higher than elsewhere."

Hans-Christian Stroebele, deputy parliamentary leader for the Greens, also warned against playing down possible far-right motives.

"People deny for days that this is far-right violence at all," Stroebele told N24. "Only when it is inescapable, when the swastika flag is nearly raised, are they inclined to see that."

    Spy laws track mobile phones

SECURITY agencies would be able to secretly track people via their mobile phones and monitor their internet browsing for up to three months without obtaining a warrant under new laws due to go before the Senate this week.

The powers could be used in a range of even relatively minor criminal investigations, not just terrorism cases.

Australia navy in breast op row

Australia's opposition Labor Party has questioned the need for female sailors to be given breast enlargements paid for with public money.

An armed forces spokesman defended the operations, saying they were carried out for psychological reasons, not to make sailors "look sexy".

Man breaks world record for longest phone call

Much to the chagrin of teenage girls everywhere, a menacing looking, middle-aged man named Tony Wright has broken the world record for the longest phone call while speak to a woman named Jenny Barnard. According to reports, the man talked on an IP phone for 40 hours, and was apparently still deeply involved in the conversation when reporters started showing up. The previous record was held by two anti-social folks from neutrality-loving Switzerland named Sandra Kobel and Stephen Hafner, having chatted away for 39 hours, 18 minutes, and 24 seconds. When asked what he had talked about for over 40 hours, Tony said (while twirling his hair), "Well, I heard that Bobby had dumped Lisa, and I was like, No way! And then Jenny said that everyone knew that Bobby was a dirtbag from the start, and I just thought..."
