Just installed Snow Leopard and now not only on start up does the machine beep constantly until I press either the up or down scroll key it also does not fully support my epson print utility. Yeah theres a folder called utility and an app inside that folder called utility but no joy when I try and run it. Printer on, printer off. I desperately need to clean nozzles and check supply levels.
Have held ink button on printer down and it does its clean, but confirmation printout. And still no supply indicator.
Got the Gutenprint 5.2.3 driver selected, but still no joy.
Zippie, not three beeps just constantly machine gun rapid until key is pressed.
Meska, have you got the print utility to work as well though? Yeah the printer here will print out but what about the utility for nozzle clean, head alignment and supply levels?
So I reinstalled my old printer utility from Epson which is aimed for use on OSX 10.4 and... it now works and printer is recognised and I have full access to cleaning nozzles head alignment and supply levels. UNREAL!
I downloaded the driver Epson suggests for Snow Leopard like three or four times now and it just wont recognise the printer. BUT with the "wrong" driver aimed for a previous OSX version it works just fine.
The song whose title escapes me but has these word: "When I see an elephant fly" just popped into my head
Cheers Flak. Yes you are right. Unplugged keyboard at boot and no machine gun beeps.
Will try and blast some air into the board to remove any unwanted fluff or dust that might be the problem. And if not looks like a good excuse for a nice new flat keyboard.
turn your keyboard upside down and smack it against your table lightly (put some cloth or something under it so that you don't damage your keyboard or table). That should get rid of some crap, but by the sounds of it you may need to invest!
You could use any USB keyboard to see if the beep goes away for good before buying another mac one.
