despite having contributed i'm not sure i want the book shipped over etc...

…so i've donated the cover price direct so there is no publishers cut

i'm really stoked, and hope to be able to afford a copy one day soon. at this point, it looks like it will be 5$ more expensive, but that's fine.

thank you, every single contributor; you're an awesome, caring, diversely talented bunch of people, and i'm proud to be among you.

i don't believe for a minute that nicko didn't spend several hours.. and several more hours setting this up and sorting out problems. he certainly responded to me with a couple of concerns that my unprofessional eye didn't notice.

Wild Rabbit Gumbo with Oysters

Ingredients
1 Rabbit cut into pieces
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup flour, all-purpose
3 each onions chopped
1 each sweet bell pepper
1/2 cup celery chopped
2/3 cup shallots chopped
1/3 cup parsley leaves chopped
1 pint oysters
1 x salt and black pepper to taste
1 x red hot pepper sauce (eg. Tabasco) to taste
Directions
Make a roux in a black iron pot with oil and flour.

Cook slowly over low heat until dark brown, stirring occasionally.

Add onions, bell pepper and celery, cooking until wilted.

Add seasonings and 3 quarts of hot water, then add seasoned rabbit and cook in a covered pot over low heat for 2 hours or until rabbit is very tender.

Add oysters, shallots and parsely.

Simmer slowly until edges of oysters begin to curl. About 3 Minutes

Serve over rice with file' and french bread.
