a bit over 300 here on first generation MacBook Pro

... took longer than usual to do the update, and the progress bar was stuck for quite some time with the fans kicking in real loud – rebooted twice, updated all the startup cache stuff as usual, everything fine and dandy, didn't dare to look if inDesign hides properly with 10.5.5 – I pretend not to care any more :-)

    pretty uneventful here too.
repair permissions is turbo fast on intel now, and still dog slow on ppc machines.
oh, and InDesign (CS3 5.0.3) still hides fine here...

maybe it's a simple coincidence, but since the update almost every app i use seems to be having troubles with stability - quits/crashes all over the place plus problems with starting illustrator/photoshop: i have to try and start them a couple of times to get them running

iTunes crashed. It was updating Genius, and all of a sudden it just completely quit.

Not sure if it's Mac OS X 10.5.5 or iTunes 8.0, as I haven't had to update Genius at all.

The OS all seems fine here, day two since upgrade, no apparent issues. Not used iTunes enough since upgrade to see anything there...

10.5.5 is running fine, maybe showing a bit more speed than before.

But iTunes shortly before he OS upgrade was crashing on me whenever I inserted a CD that Gracenotes CCDB didn't recognize, so I had to use Time Machine to revert to iTunes 7.7.1 That's working fine now, with 10.5.5 and I'm waiting on a corrected update for iTunes.

JusMe, try deleting ~/Library/Preferences/CD Info.cidb (there may be more than one) and see if that fixes iTunes. Am pretty sure that's where the CDDB info is stored, maybe it became corrupted.

Rather than going through the reinstalling of version 8 to see if that trashing of the CDDB works, I think I'll just stay with 7.7.1 which provides me with everything I need - don't want the store and Genius anyway.

When there's an update of iTunes from 8.0, I'll give it a try. If the whole thing crashes then, I'll have to dump the database in my library, but I'd prefer not doing that as all the info in it would be lost.

iTunes 7.7.1 works fine, so I'll stick with it for a while. (Curious, too, that there's no corruption of the database in this version, but only in the later iTunes.)

Just updated to 10.5.5, latest quicktime etc - no glitches so far, first boot was a bit slow, might be due updating of bootcaches or something. Otherwise, fine here.
