conversations Need help with "locked" Illustrator file

    Adobe Illustrator CS3

    Dunno what happened.. I am working on my document, next thing that happens is that the cursor changes into a pencil with a line through it.
    I cannot select anything, i cannot modify or move anything.. the whole damn thing seems to be inaccessible.

    I tried saving as eps, Ai, pdf.. and re-open..but the same stinky crossed-pencil keeps appearing.


    (PS. the last the before i saved, it did mention something about a Font STHei that could not be embedded due to license restrictions)

    trashing all AI prefs may fix that.

    well..seems i am totally f*cked on this one.

    However, printing the file and saving as .ps file and then opening that .ps file again in Illustrator saved most of it.
    Text out of place etc etc..but the artwork is more or less ok so i can start from there.

    lol Chris. I have seen the 'pencil with a line' problem before but cant remember how to replicate it or fix it so I acknowledge the problem but am no use lol :happy:

    open your layers palette, click on the padlock symbol next to layer 1 ;)
