    Fuck You MTV!

God damn it. Nothing is sacred. MTV (which hasn't been relevant in years and has given us such cultural milestones as The Hill's) has announced it will be remaking The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Was anyone asking for this?! I mean the original is no cinematic masterpeice but it has retained a sort of dirty do-it-yourself charm. There are no great special effects, there are cheesy sets and a cheesier script. But thats its charm.

That's why people of all ages keep turning out in theaters in the place I now call home and just about everywhere else in the world. This isn't a re-invention for the masses of teens unfamiliar with the original. Whenever I go to see Rocky in a theater or on stage most of the audience is teens. So why!? Money would be the obvious answer. No surprise there. MTV has always been about exploiting the youth market and now it's about packaged nostalgia. A low even VH1 wouldn't have stooped to. Disgusting.

Yeah, they should make something worthwhile like Buckaroo Banzai versus the World Crime League.

Join the crowd in front of any movie theatre showing a controversial movie, one that the demonstrators disapprove of!! Censor it!! Burn it!!

Better, just ignore it and let it fade away quietly. Alternately, you could give it much more publicity and draw greater audiences to it, wondering just what the fuss is all about.

RHPS= saw it, loved it, learned ALL the songs, played Little Nell in a theatre production, still sing all the songs. so... perfect. :D

edit: RHPC was a typo... another typo

Im with you on this, i could care less about anything being remade...i guess some people concern themselves about the purity of the original
worried a generation of people will think Vince Vaughn is Norman Bates~I say fuck it...who cares what they think
I dont hate Rocky Horror(dont think its great cinema...just good fun)...and have fond memories of going to the shows...
(My girlfriend and i streaked out of theatre once when i was eighteen...she topless~me bottomless...needless to say alcohol was involved)
will i watch the remake..maybe ~if im bored...will i like it as much as the original...its possible but i doubt it
do i care that its being remade...no
i dont think anything is too sacred to be redone
except maybe 'The Big Lebowski' as THAT movie is truly perfect
Just joking they could remake that too and i wouldn't give hell
    ~but im a crazy person

maybe i'll see Dr Strangelove some day. only being able to watch stuff for 15 minutes or so at a time sort of has my "ohh you MUST SEE" list pretty backlogged. i wasn't impressed with Sellers in the Pink Panther, i lost interest pretty fast.

the RHCP .. i've learned some of their songs... not all. they (and i know MB) just don't have as much fun as RHPS; they take themselves much too seriously. :D
