Well it doesn't load up. Could be just my iphone. No one else has this problem. I don't mind anyway, i don't buy music from iTunes. The App store is fine.

    OK, cheers meska.

I don't use the iPhone ITMS either.

Also, the tethering hack you posted the other day... does that work OK / does it play well with the rest of the phone? Finally, there are 2 O2 options... which one did you use?
  • edited 1:50PM
Not tested the tethering, i did download an app called Tether on Cydia tho.
  • edited 1:50PM
    OK thanks.
  • edited 1:50PM

Any news on the tether hack yet, anyone?
  • edited 1:50PM
I still haven't jailbroken mine yet :awkward:
  • edited 1:50PM
    I havent either :awkward:

so I'm now guessing that it has to be jailbroken to run the hack?
  • edited 1:50PM
Yeah, all I know about the hack is that it can screw with your voicemail.

Reckon this is the way to go:

I'm a bit nervous fucking with it so I'll wait for some feedback!!!!
  • edited 1:50PM

bloody iphone and it's chat-like sms interface. i now have 2 inclusive text messages remaining, and 8 days until it gets reset.

of course, the online billing thing is going to be a little behind, so i've very likely got -5 sms messages remaining atm... hehe

    yay for unlimited!

    *texts chris the internet*
  • edited 1:50PM
Innit?! Orange are foolz (for the moment). You need ALL YOU CAN EAT yum yum...
  • edited 1:50PM
Remember that you are paying a lot more to get 'unlimited', innit ;)
  • edited 1:50PM
Yeah, but you should see how much i use my iPhone. In the end its a WIN for me, as being on an o2 contract means i get unlimited broadband at home for £9.78pm for upto 20mb (i get 5.5/6mb now after switching from Bulldog/Pipex/Tiscali's 3/3.5mb @ £20pm).

you iPhone/iTouch users might like this home-made paper "stand".

the site has downloadable pdfs (with both US and EU paper sizing) and a "how-to" vid.

    stand 1

    stand 2

    stand 3

iPhone and iTouch paper stand and dock

    and.... this!

if you've emptied your piggybank to buy an iPhone, it's good to cut costs in other places.

    iphone case

    iphone case 2

[hide]ok, i may have slid into some kind of passive-aggressive jealousy thing here..... ;) [/hide]

    Ping! (iTunes link)

sms style instant messaging: it's free for a limited time only and it also works with the iPod Touch

    http://www.pingmessaging.com/Ping!/Ping!.html
  • edited 1:50PM
i guess it works over a wifi connection then (as well), if it's working on the touch.
  • edited 1:50PM
Yeah, Pete and I were just discussing it.

I guess it's just like mobile AIM... probably more use for iPod Touch users.
  • edited 1:50PM
push is good though, for those with good data plans, innit.
  • edited 1:50PM
though, battery life, cough splutter, etc, you know.

So, I just jailbroke my iphone with blackra1n.

I can't believe how simple it is again. Gone are the days of messing around with the ipsw and the pwnage tool. I guess I'm mad late to the party on this one.

Anyone using one of the tethering apps on Cydia or Rock?
  • edited 1:50PM
nicko, it was piss easy when i did it a few months ago, too (yellowsnow, or summat. don't worry, i didn't eat it).
  • edited 1:50PM
    grab yourself installous, too
  • edited 1:50PM
OK, I read about installous... why do I need that?
  • edited 1:50PM
Chris, there was a time when jailbreaking was a lot less convenient... I think it was when ipsw 2 was released.

It's as easy as jailbreaking ipsw 1 now.
  • edited 1:50PM
installous is like the crooked app store, on your phone.

    1. search
    2. pay
    3. download
    4. ????? (install)
    5. PROFIT
  • edited 1:50PM
isn't that what cydia and rock do?
  • edited 1:50PM

btw, I looked through the available apps on cydia and rock... nothing took my fancy.

    lol?
  • edited 1:50PM
iphone apps are pretty much like that, imo.

solitaire gets a fair bit of playing, tho. i also like the virtual drummer app, and the bbc news thingy.
  • edited 1:50PM
Use Winterboard to customize the iPhone desktop. Download, themes, icons, ringtones etc from Cydia.
