*I do think Gary Oldman is underrated in this film. His Lt. Gordon is spot on, solid. * hehehehehehehe. TOTALLY with you on THAT point!

gary oldman is pretty much great in everything he has done(can anybody say "True Romance"...small role but fantastic performance!-and no...its not white boy day!)

Joker was excellent and the film 'ok', Batman was over the top, other characters played their roles well.
  6.
I thought the movie was awesome
Not only isthis the best Batman movie,If you remove the bat costume I'm ranking it up against Reservoir Dogs, The Usual Suspects, and The Departed for best cops and robbers movie ever made
and as far a sbatman goes It might never get this good again.
yes the plot was thick, yes it was long, but many great movies are
the scene where he blows up the hospital is now in my pantheon of the greatest scenes in cinematic history

as far as the bat voice goes...yes i think they could have done a better job
(he is supposed to be wearing something that changes hios voice to help conceal his identity)
i do agree the voice was a bit too much..but for all the naysayers that is all i agree with

now i must rant with some spoilers so...

done rannting...@ Ve. he was also great in that beethoven movie i cant remember name...good stuff though!
He is a very underrated actor...wasnt a big fan of dracula, but he did a fantastic job

So I cashed in some grandparents tokens for this last night. I'm not sure how I feel about the film yet.

I liked Ledger's Joker a lot and really, really got irritated with the batman's voice

i thought i was going to walk out several times, but hated to waste the money - as for wasting the time, it was already too late. a few moments of entertainment[Caine & Freedman] surrounded by poorly shot fight scenes. Could have been the sound system, but Oldman's dialog was unintelligible.

Morgan Freeman is seriously injured in hospital after flipping his car into a ditch

with Bale and his family and ledger - there is mumbo jumbo talk about a Dark Knight curse :|

I'm pretty sure non successful people have been arrested, crashed cars and taken overdoeses, I reckon if you searched hard enough you could find 1 from each situation that have watched a batman film in the past, but you wouldn't bother to connect them.

    Still tragic all the same.

    indeed

    Happier note again:

I saw it last night, and loved it! I'm not a devoted DC Comic fan (being a girl, I prefered barbie. ^_^) But I thought it was absolutely amazing. Some of the hype before hand about Heath Ledger getting the oscar for the Joker I thought was jsut because what happened later. But oh my god! A terrifying villian, with a mysterious, and deep motive, if any. And his laugh! Just thinking about it makes me quiver.

Batmans voice was annoying, but he didn't really talk THAT much in comparison of the rest of the film. So it didn't really get overbearing I don't think.

It has been a long long time since I've wanted to watch something again after the first time, but it would be a pleasure on this occasion.

One thing, 12A!?!?!? It terrified me! I would literally cacked myself in the cinema seat if I'd been 12!! I know there was no swearing, and no direct images of violence but a lot of the scenes were powerfully disturbing.

All in all, highly reccomend it, but if you're a chicken like me, take a pillow. Two.

    ^_^

I really wish I had the chance to of seen this in IMAX, like I did the first, several times. That being said, I thought the movie got a 7.5/10. I liked it, but I didn't leave the theater still thinking about it, and by the next morning, I had forgotten it all together. It just didnt leave an epic impression in me. Still a very good movie and worth the scratch. Just not the hype.

i'll tell you what would ruin a film for me - paying £8 for a ticket to buy really expensive snacks and drinks, sitting on an uncomfortable seat in a room full of plebs, not being able to pause the movie so i could go for a whizzle, and not being allowed to drinks beers.

one of my old friends used to phone the cinema beforehand to get the running times of the films he wanted to see, just so he'd know how much alcohol to take...didn't want to be cracking open the last of his 6-pack before the denouement (not that he expressed it in quite that fashion). I always felt a bit self-conscious sitting with him, as I hadn't really noticed before that cinemas don't sell you any beverages that go "psssschhh" when you open them..

Yeah, there was a guy three seats down from me in the IMAX theater, and he'd make comments throughout the film.

"Hahahaha, man that Joker is crazy"
"I love that guy, he's insane"

    etc.

That's the only negative memory I had of the experience, that there was a theater full of people, and nobody told him to shut his damn mouth.

Same thing happened to me the first time I went to see it. The guy right behind me started yapping through the trailers (which annoyed the hell out of me since I LOVE trailers) then he went five minutes or so into the actual film. At that point I stood up, turned around and stared at him for about 10 seconds after which I told him I'd let him enjoy the movie if he let me. His friends gave him shit and I didn't hear "peep" from him again till the movie was done. I enjoyed the movie sooooooo much more after that.
