advice iPod 5G hissing sound

    I went to pick up my brand new replaced iPod 5G Video today and decided to buy better earphones while I was at it and now I can hear a distinct hiss in the background. Has anybody else here with an iPod noticed it? Is it normal? Do I go back for the third time and ask for a replacement?

    you shouldn't hear any hiss through the headphones

    thought so. cheers zippie. back to get it replaced. again.

    you'd expect a bit more for €429. If I wanted a constant hissing sound when listening to music I'd get out my cassettes and play them in my old walkman
