advice sata...?

    Anyone know if it's at all possible to hook up a SATA dvd drive in a macpro? I know it may take some "rewiring" as the current setup is ATA for the dvd, SATA for the hard drives...

    Came across the Pioneer DVR-212...looks interesting...

    Reason being, i accidently toasted the built in dvd drive flashing the firmware - it now spins twice as fast and writes at half the speed... (built in drive is a piece of crap really, considering how much apple charge for it)

    Yea, there's SATA ports back there for the optical bays.
