the best part, for me, is when there are loads of pieces together.

ribbon staircase, constructed from 10mm steel. pretty cool, eh.

this looks cool, but just by looking at it i'm afraid of stepping on it :)
it's seems like a ladder without the sides, only spokes (is that correct word?) :)

on a ladder, it would be "rungs", which is quite a silly word ;)

i bet it does have a nice bit of flex when walking on the right hand side of it, yeah!

that is exceptionally graceful. enchanting. :)

you know, i bet it doesn't flex much.

this set of stairs is... unusual. typically, my first thought was: "who's going to have to clean all those crossed struts? "

this dude decorated his basement with $10 worth of sharpie markers.

When Charlie Kratzer started on the basement art project in his south Lexington home, he was surrounded by walls painted a classic cream. Ten dollars of Magic Marker and Sharpie later, the place was black and cream and drawn all over.

There are fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes, Winston Churchill lounging with George Bernard Shaw — and the TV squirrel Rocky and his less adroit moose pal Bullwinkle.

that chair has nice lines, but the seat is going to cut into the back of people's legs. otoh, it's pink. that makes up for a lot. ;)

    eraser clock

the hand is the eraser. if the clock is like most whiteboard material, it'd take more than the flimsy erase/wipe.

    it's not pink, it's ply!
i think that only short legs would touch that part of the chair, too. and only then if you tucked your feet back under the chair.

clock is cool! (but i agree about the flimsy wipe bit).

Emiliano Godoy's Knit chairEmiliano Godoy's Knit chair closeup

Emiliano Godoy's Knit chair just shouts good design! The fact that it is completely biodegradable just adds to the experience. The materials and construction blend the common, cotton rope, with high tech, aircraft plywood, in such a way as to be startlingly intuitive. The interesting point is that small wood pieces are held together with strings, and it is possible to develop in various shape & design. It is unique that 3-dimensional shapes are made by separating pieces.

    Faux Bois Sofa
This is a trompe d'oeil sofa, called Soft Wood. The 'wood' is actually photo-printed fabric that covers comfortable cushions.

Designed by the all-female Swedish group, Front, it's faux bois taken to the next level.

See, I thought "damn, how useful!" as it's often the case where you have just filled the sink with hot water for washing-up when you need to run the cold tap for a drink, or whatever. But it takes up so much space, and the dishes would likely dislodge it on the regular. Overall: fail.

And for that reason, I'm out.

sure, the tetriscolours would make you go postal after some time, but if they
would use different types of wood for the cubes instead ...

i can magine sitting infront of this desk, stroking the white cat on my lap and wondering
