Is it the Shit? Is it worth buying?

I've got the IXUS 400 which I've been happy with for the past 3 years but I want something newer now. I've read everything from "Worth recommending!" to "nothing exciting" about the 900Ti. My IXUS 400 has managed to impress me so I can't really imagine Canon taking a large step back with the 900Ti

I don't need image stabilizing... that's for homos anyway. I managed without that feature with my IXUS 400 so I wouldn't be missing it. The 1600 ISO feature... even 3200... in the 900Ti is a bit far out since anything above 800 tends to get too grainy. But the 900Ti seems to be a solid little cam. Is there anybody here who has a 900Ti or who knows somebody that has one?

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    cheers

i've got an 800IS and its tits.

I thought the 900 is a bit too clunky, and all those extra megapixels take up gobs of disk space. Peep the 800.

I have the 800IS as well. I chose it over the 900 because of the Image Stabilization. The 900 doesn't have it. The 800IS also has a lens capable of wider shots. The trade-off in megapixels was worth it for me.

Fischeye view with the IXUS 900

Even after I had corrected it with PS it still isn't 100% right.

    Another example:

    After some Photoshopping

What's the best software to De-Fisheye photos with? In fact... is this Fisheye thingy normal for the IXUS 900?

    cheers.
