I read an article about this once. The Bridge has a board of directors who deliberate on such matters and the idea of a fence has been mentioned multiple times but is always rejected for aesthetic reasons.
to be fair, i work very close to swansea marina, in the new waterfront development, and we've seen 18 deaths in the river / marina in 12 months. they are calling for fences to be put up (it would mean miles and miles of it), but i can't see how that is going to help. surely people would just go and off-themselves somewhere else? it's not like they were walking by and just fell in, is it. -
